My Professional Background
I have always had a sense of just knowing things about situations or people and other times frightening things like when my cousin had died in a bike accident and then later when my grandmother had passed away very suddenly, and both over the other side of the world.
I have also been very curious and intrigued about the unknown and the spirit world, and from the age of 15yrs I was already wanting to learn as much as I could about these areas of fascination. When I turned 22yrs my best friend gave me a pack of Tarot Cards, which was such a special gift and one I’ve always cherished.
From then on I started reading cards, initially for my friends and colleagues. I also attended personal development and spiritual classes at the “Takapuna Parapsychology School” run by psychic Francie Williams, where I learn’t to read Aura’s, did courses on Tarot, Numerology and Colour Psychology which is how I obtained a Certificate to teach and give one-on-one sessions.
Later in my Intuitive career I worked as a phone psychic for a few psychic companies – “Grace’s psychic circle” in Auckland and then for an American/UK psychic company “Crystal clear psychics”, which allowed me to work in England, then in Egypt and then back at home when I returned in 2012.
Both companies gave me the opportunity to use my gifts and learn’t tools in a variety of different ways, and to connect to many different types of people all around the world, which I am grateful to of experienced.
Listening to Our Inner Voice – Do You?
It can be “Challenging” to Listen to once’s own Intuition, as trusting ourselves or the unknown is not something we are brought up to believe in or do.
But it is something important to think about as we are the only ones who can truly know ourselves and our inner thoughts or feelings.
My Personal Experience
I have been Lucky to some degree as from a very young age I was very independent and always just did things without thinking if they were right or wrong, even if they seemed crazy to other people. I just did what I felt I needed to do without questioning myself.
Over the years this attitude has encountered some challenges especially with people in Authority, so I’ve had to learn to curb my independent spirit and enthusiasm to some degree to be able to create a Win/Win outcome for everyone concerned. But at the end of the day I have always continued to do what I have felt is best for me in any situation, and this has been due to always listening to myself!
Listening and Reflecting
Listening to our own Intuition will connect us to a Deeper Level of our own Inner self or Intelligence. You can learn to do this in many different ways like some of the suggestions below, or create your own way that feels right for you.
Some Examples:
- Learning to Meditate
- Practicing Mindfulness
- Yoga Exercises
- Attending Psychic or Self Growth Groups
- Reading Tarot Cards as a daily Focus or for Inspiration
But my Favorite one’s that I try to do as often as I can, is to sit in Nature or by Water – so that I can be Peaceful and at one with Mother Earth! This is a very Beneficial Routine for us to consider doing, as most of our lives are drilled into doing, rushing around, competing, feeling pressured and listening to other people’s advice, thus pulling us away from our own Inner Awareness.
Exercises to try:
If learning to Listen to your Intuition is a “Challenge” for you to do then I would like to suggest trying one of the Following Exercises or come up with something similar where you can become peaceful, relaxed and quiet preferably, every day for at least a week.
- Using a “Cleansed” Quartz Crystal or any crystal you may have. Hold the Crystal in your hand and close your eyes. Take Note what you feel or experience, you may see colors, go on a journey or hear a message from your guide. Write down your experiences in a journal.
- Have a warm bath with a couple of drops each/or of one of the following Essential Oils – geranium, patchouli, neroli and lavender. Lie in the bath, close your eyes and breath in the smell of the oils. Let them take you on a journey while you relax there for at least 20 minutes. Write down what you experienced, was there any messages given or how did you feel?
- If you have a garden with flowers or if not, go to place where there is a beautiful fragrant garden. Spend some time in that garden just “being” with no distractions, sitting close to the plants and enjoying their fragrance and their beautiful healing energy.
- Spend time with animals, watch them, take them for a walk, stroke them or just be around them. See their beauty and feel their love and trust. If you don’t have a pet you can always go to a park and watch other peoples animals or you could take some bread to feed the birds.
- If you have a pack of Oracle cards or similar, either ask the pack what is it that you need to be shown today. Or just pick a card out of the pack and note what feelings or messages it may be giving you and note these down in your Journal. You may receive other insights or thoughts about this card that may present themselves to you that represent this cards meaning through-out the day.
Practicing any of these exercises or ones of your own will help you become more sensitive and aware of yourself and deepen your connection to your inner guidance, teaching you to trust yourself!
