About Elaine

My Naturopathic Life

Below is a little bit of personal history around my work in the Natural Health Field……

My professional work started back in 1990, when I was asked to teach Aromatherapy and Self Empowering Courses for the Continued Education program held at local Schools/Colleges.

Due to my passion, I ventured on to complete a Diploma in Aromatherapy, at the  NZ College of Massage which I combined with my Massage and Anatomy & Physiology Diplomas.

I continued teaching Aromatherapy at Colleges and large groups around Auckland and (NZ) Nationwide.  I have worked professionally for the Aromatherapy Company “Absolute Essential”, as shop manager, looking after the practitioners and distant learning students.
At the same time I consulted to Amway NZ teaching Aromatherapy to their distribution groups all over NZ which I enjoyed but due to collapsing with burn-out I had to decide to let go of one of the jobs for my well-being.

I decided to go back to school in 2001 and graduated as a Naturopath and Medical Herbalist from WellPark College in 2005, and in the same year teaching Certificate and Diploma Level Aromatherapy to their Aromatherapy students until I left New Zealand to live in the UK.

Moving to England, I became registered with the G.C.R.N., British Naturopathic association (BNA) and became an Executive Council Member.  Over the next couple of years I worked professionally for the Herbal Aromatherapy Company “Culpeper & Napier’s’’ as a Naturopath Practitioner at Worcester and Bristol Health Clinics.

I taught  Alternative Health Modules at South Worcestershire Colleges (Evesham and Malvern) and later Lectured at Worcester University, teaching Public Health Nutrition Modules to Nutrition Students, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

During 2008 – 2010 I worked as a Naturopath and Medical Herbalist alongside the NHS Occupation Health Team at Worcester County Council providing health consultations to staff members, and teaching Naturopath Modules and Supervising Student Clinics for the College of Naturopathic Medicine, located in London, Birmingham and Bristol.

I left England in 2011 to live in glorious Luxor Egypt, living there for six months and enjoying the opportunity to live in a natural environment before returning to my homeland, New Zealand May 2012.

Beside having the opportunity in my profession to help people in general with their health concerns, I have a special interest and passion in supporting people with “Mental Health Wellness” in managing Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Shock, Grief and PTSD Health Conditions as well as giving advice on how to implement Self Care and Wellness Routines.

I have personally experienced first hand most of these Conditions over the last three years, and I have been lucky that through some of the hardest times, I had the tools, products and knowledge to help myself through them.

Since COVID-19 our world, life and lifestyles have dramatically changed and challenged us in many unexpected ways and for me, I’m so grateful to be home connecting to the wonderful healing energy of beautiful Aotearoa.
